RafflesPrivato Displays Stun Shanghai 2012 New Year Countdown Party

RafflesPrivato, the incubator for young designers of Raffles Design Institute Shanghai, aunted its design and creativity at the Shanghai 2012 New Year Countdown Party held at the famous fashion and tourist attraction XinTianDi on December 31, 2011. The star-studded annual event held its 10th year with exhilarating performances and was attended by expats and locals in Shanghai. The RafflesPrivato collection will also remain on display in XinTianDi on January 5, 2012 onwards.

From musical notes to childhood stories and toy as concepts, all 10 emerging designers put up a cutting-edge display of their design ability and distinctive fashion sense which hopes to infuse a greater amount of condence to the fashion industry in the future. Located at the heart of the fashion city in XinTianDi Style shopping mall, RafflesPrivato has gained several recognition and exposure in the industry since its opening in July 2011.

Most notably, RafflesPrivato has played an important role in motivating and supporting Chinese designers to aim for originality and explore their full potential to compete with international designers around the world.

As a platform for Raffles Design Institute Shanghai students to learn and overcome the challenges in the real world, the young designers have gained priceless experience to know what makes a successful fashion designer today. From personal dialogue with walk-in customers to in-depth study of buying trends, many have acquired more useful and practical knowledge about the retail industry. In fact, this incubator project has recently nurtured three designers to create their fashion label and start up their own retail shop in Shanghai.

The explicit display in the New Year Countdown Party signals an impressive start for the year 2012 as more young talents emerge from Raffles Design Institute Shanghai.
